Seiko Presage Collection
Sublime mechanical watches from Japan. More than 100 years ago, Seiko produced Japan's first wristwatch, laying the foundation under a now long tradition of great craftsmanship. To this day, Seiko watchmakers share a passion for innovation and craftsmanship in the creation, assembly and inspection of Seiko mechanical watches. Outstanding craftsmanship is the basis for the high standard of Seiko's mechanical Presage watches.
Automatic movement
A mechanical watch automatically recharges itself while being worn by converting the wearer's arm and wrist movements into energy. Movement of the watch causes the watch's main spring to be wound up. This spring is the energy source.
Caliber 4R38
The 4R38 Seiko caliber is a mechanical caliber. The watch automatically recharges itself while being worn by converting the wearer's arm and wrist movements into energy. Movement of the watch causes the watch's main spring to be wound up. This spring is the energy source. Hand winding is also possible. When fully charged, the watch has a power reserve of about 41 hours. The tick rate of this automatic is 21,600 per hour and the watch has 24 jewels. The 4R caliber is manufactured entirely in-house.
A mechanical watch functions without a battery and has a larger deviation than Quartz, Kinetic or Spring Drive watches. For example: -15/+25sec per day.
Seiko, founded in 1881 by Kintaro Hattori, has an impressive history dating back to the beginning of the modern era in Japan. The founder started out as a watchmaker in Tokyo and quickly became a pioneer in the watchmaking industry. The company produced its first clock in 1892 and Japan's first wristwatch in 1913, showing Seiko's commitment to innovation early on.
Over the following decades, Seiko grew into a globally respected watch brand with a series of groundbreaking achievements. In 1969, Seiko introduced the world's first quartz watch, the Astron, setting standards for precision and technological advancement. In the years that followed, Seiko launched other remarkable technologies, such as the Spring Drive mechanism, and developed several collections that are both technically advanced and aesthetically appealing. With more than a century of innovation and craftsmanship, Seiko remains an icon in the watchmaking industry, bringing together the past and the present in an impressive legacy of timekeeping.
The Seiko Presage collection embodies sophistication and craftsmanship, with watches that perfectly combine tradition and modernity. With a heritage dating back to the early 20th century, Presage offers a range of models, each with carefully crafted details. From delicate dial patterns to high-quality materials such as stainless steel and sapphire crystal, these watches exude timeless elegance for any occasion. For watch lovers who seek subtle sophistication, the Seiko Presage collection represents the essence of Japanese watchmaking traditions.
