Astron Collection
Seiko Astron: The watch that always shows the right time. Worldwide. At the touch of a button and using only light-generated energy, an Astron GPS Solar watch can contact 4 or more satellites, identify the time zone and set the hands above the dial to the correct local time. With a maximum deviation of 1 second per 100,000 years. The ideal watch for the frequent traveler.
Solar GPS timepiece
The GPS Solar watch can set itself to the correct time zone anywhere in the world with a simple push of a button, thereby displaying the correct local time. On the dial, the GPS signal indicator shows whether the watch is connecting to the global GPS network.
Caliber 5X53
Seiko introduces the new 5X GPS Solar caliber. The world's most advanced GPS Solar caliber ever. The new Astron GPS Solar is faster, even easier to operate and offers better reception capability. Energy consumption has also been optimized.
The Seiko 5X53 caliber is the prestigious analog GPS Solar DualTime caliber. This watch can set itself to the correct time zone anywhere in the world with a simple push of a button, thereby displaying the correct local time. On the dial, the GPS signal indicator shows whether the watch is connecting to the global GPS network. It also shows how many satellites the watch is connecting to. Determining the correct time zone requires connection to at least 4 satellites. If the watch is fully charged, the watch connects to one satellite up to 2x per day to correct the time. This makes the 5X53 GPS Solar watch extremely accurate and the watch has a deviation of only 1 second per 100,000 years. If necessary, the local time can also be changed manually.
The smart Perpetual Calendar function ensures that the watch always shows the correct date until the year 2100. The watch features an in-flight mode, daylight saving time can be adjusted automatically and a second time can be set. The second time is displayed in a 12h window with a separate AM/PM indicator. The TimeTransfer function allows the display of the two times to be switched by a simple operation.
The built-in watch micro-GPS receiver consumes so little energy that all functions function optimally on light energy generated by the Solar dial.
Seiko, founded in 1881 by Kintaro Hattori, has an impressive history dating back to the beginning of the modern era in Japan.
